Can I serve an LDS Mission if I have student loans?
I am 22 and recently have begun to decide to go on a mission after I graduate college in May 2009. I have taken out federal student loans during my college career, so does anyone have any experience or knowledge about what to do? Is there a loan deferment I can do, because obviously I don't think I can pay the loans back during an 18 month mission. And...would a bishop allow me to go on a mission since I have those student loans? Who should I talk to about this the financial aid office at my school?

I've had my college degree for almost 4 yrs., & I still haven't been able to find a job. Deferments are only allowed for a certain amount of time. Time is running out for me. 1 of my loans have defaulted, & I tried to go back to school but couldn't make it. I'm afraid of my Social Security being garnished & being taken to court. I've been losing sleep over this, & it's depressing me.
Muslim student loans in the USA?
I don't think I will get many replies to this, but I thought I'd try.As many of you know, charging interest is considered Haram in Islam. " Haram" means " forbidden" .In many countries, including some countries in the " West" banks have devised so called " Muslim loans" for their customers who wish to be adherent to Shariah Law. But I don't know of any who cater to Muslims in the USA. HSBC offers these services in other countries, but not in their US branches.I have been in college for a long time, because I can only take the amount of courses that I can afford to pay for upfront. I am about to graduate with my bachelours degree, but when I go to get my Master's degree I will need to know about Muslim loans interest free loans.
Don't you hate when when people talk about poor people living off student loans?
when they never had to work hard a day in their lives because their parents have money. I work go to college my parents work 2 jobs and have their own business and we still struggle to get by. It pisses me off when some spoiled rich kid talks about poor people being lazy. Does it bother you when people talk like this.

Why isn't there more help paying off student loans?
I think a site should be created where people all over the country could read about a student life, degree, current job status, contact info and be able to donate to help pay off verified student loans. So many students, like myself, grew up with nothing. We worked full time to pay the bills and took loans out for school. After graduating, we're still in debt and strapped for cash because of entry level salaries. It makes all the hard work seem worthless especially since some non degree jobs start at so much more. Any thoughts or ideas?
I cant seem to get a job...my student loans are due to be repaid, is suicide my only option?
I stupidly though that a degree would help me be more employable or at least get a menial mind numbing job, but i was unfortunate enough to graduate this may into the worst recession since the great depression As such im about 30K in debt from school loans, don't have any experience except a stupid library job, shelving books and doing other no skilled crap, couldn't get an internship and probably have a bad resume. I don't even have enough money to pay a professional resume service to write me one. I cant find a job in my field aviation management and any other field would result in me being miserable. To make things more humiliating i ve been turned down from stupid chimp positions at Target and other dead end level jobs, apparently im not qualified to stand around and put stuff on shelves in a store all day, like a moron. and no one will give me a chance in aviation or in a skilled decent paying entry level job...in short i cant get any job The only solution to defaulting on my loan and as such never again being able to get a job or get a place to live with wreaked credit from default student loans, seems to be suicide. Upon death the loan is forgiven....and since i seem to be unemployable, and my private university diploma apparently only being good as toilet paper, what choice do i have? I live with my mom, and if i default ill be there for ever?Im an atheist, and i don't care about my parents, in fact killing myself would release a huge financial burden. If society isn't going to give me a chance to be productive in any kind of job after i put in so much money and work to get educated why should i continue living? Those & & %'s cant get my money when dead?So this seems my only choice...is it? please no touchy feely god crap, or family BS or cliched stuff Also, whats the most effective relatively painless way to go?to the fker who criticized my grammar...im drunk you & & Youd be too if you had no job and 30K debt.
