Question: Do you think tiger woods is obligated to make any public apologies for his personal and private indiscretions?

Lots of people who don't even know Tiger Woods have become "talking heads " about his marital indiscretions and private life. Most of them judgemental hypocrites. What I'd like to know is since when did it become a norm for anyone to apologize to the public for their personal shortcomings? Celebrity or not. And when was the last time anyone apologized to his gilfriend's family and the entire city for cheating on her? Think about it.

TW believes that he is obligated to because he got so many endorsements because of his public image - now he is feeling ashamed. It only shows how people worship celebrities and have unrealistic expectations from them but forget they are just mortals, sometimes even lesser mortals compared to their superior performance in their chosen areas. He is obligated to apologize to his family if they care any more, now.

I did not watch his apologies and care not to. The only reason he did and came down from his pedestal is because of his sponsors no other reason ! For before that I always thought he was obnoxious ! One must learn how to crawl all over at times !

Yes, he is obligated by his 12-Step recovery program to make amends to those he has harmed. Since he has caused harm to many people, it is not possible for him to go to each one individually - maybe later he will have to see some more of these people in person. That's his decision to make. He also has to keep his legal jeopardy in mind & consult his lawyers about the exact wording - I agree with you about the "talking heads " - half of them don't know what they are talking about & it's not even their business. They are just making it their business to have something to do & get in on the excitement of it all.
