Question: I need help with laws in washington state having to do with disabled people and modification loans/foreclosure?

Is there a law in the state of Washington that states that the bank cannot take away a home or put it on foreclosure if a disabled/ handicapped person lives in that home? If so, where can i find this law?

This is a Capitalist society, every individual has responsibilities they/ we have to live by. I'm sorry for your dilema and hope you can call your bank to ask they about a home modification but as a siciety are not in the business of being a socialist or communistic society where your housing is provided for you. The American Dream is what we have in this country, everyone can achieve and get success as well as earn whatever they want, the sky is the limit as far as what your dreams can get you. Only in America can you become wealthy and enjoy life and status by achieving where some countries all people are equal or in some countries you have a caste system. We do not live that way here. As a homeowner I think you are smart enough to know that disabled people do not get a free pass because of their disability. As a disabled person, we pay for our home, medical care as well as our food and everything else we have. May I also advise you not to take up internet offers of loans, Business do not use YAHOO mail accounts when doing business that requires morgatge information and such. beware of those coliciters please. A lot of people will attempt to take advantage of you by offering loans such as the one I see posted. You want to go into a bank directly and see what help is available to modify your mortage. You certainly had the smarts to purchase a home but how you can come up with the idea you cannot lose your home because of disability is beyond me. I hope all works well for you. Keep the faith and try to get thing sin order the correct way, make some phone calls today, get your paperwork done so you can start the process. But always remember no one owes you. You have to earn your keep and pay like all of us do. Best Wishes!

I found the link to the Washington Attorney General's Office. Though it sounds like it's more like you would turn up some financial aid to keep you afloat. There is a lot of foreclosure prevention help available these days, best to start with the government institutions that aren't trying to make a buck off you.
