Why do soo many people think education equals intelligence?

Question: Why do soo many people think education equals intelligence?

(Posted by: King of londoN on 2010-02-28 23:36:40)

I only had education between the ages of 5 - 12 years old but I sometimes know more than people who completed their education up to the age of 16 (UK compulsory schooling). I think intelligence has to do with memory, problem solving and the speed in which you can calculate. Not spelling, gramma or how much you scored in a test and it is genetically determined. Actually I am in university right now after missing 4 years of education how do you explain that? @ Rah Rah Rah ah ah roma roma ma a How am I confused didnt I already state education and intelligence are two differnt thing liks you stated?

You are confusing education with schooling. Schooling prevents education by taking up time that could be used for it.

Intelligence is how well you can take in information and how much you can hold, its also the ability to make correct decisions. They would confuse this with being smart which may come from an education.

Lolz indeed you are very confused Intelligence and Education are two different things Intelligence means the capability of learning about a subject or something. While education is the help to gain intelligence education helps you get better at intelligence, education is a help that teaches you how to live a life through and by using your intelligence. Wich is learned mostly at school, but since we can develop our intelligence naturally we can educate ourselves naturally but that's what school is for, to educate us with the things that could take us years to learn on our own, learning it in a matter of weeks. See the difference? Lol I learned this through school ( Vocabulary and meanings) at English class ^_^ see what school does? It has educated me to know the difference between words and gain knowledge. One more thing Education helps you develop your natural intelligence so it can work faster and be more openminded.

Most people who don't go to school fail and don't have a good job,so when you go to school, you get a good education and, thus increase the chance of getting a good job, becoming more educated about things which makes you more intelligent.

Ah nature v nurture. One gets out of education what they put in to it. Memory is a necessity for good recall, but some of the smartest people that I know would qualify as absent minded professors. Intelligence comes in all sizes and shapes. Be very careful how you judge some one. You may dismiss some one as unintelligent, but they may in fact hold within them the answers to they mysteries of the universe.

Education determines how hard you work. Intelligence determines your life experiences

Because they are ignorance. You can force people to have education but not to have intelligence. One thing is for sure. You can not have intelligence without having education, either in school or out of school education.

It's statistics. The more intelligent you are, the more likely you can successfully complete an education.
