1. I blame the parents. 2. You can't expect morality or sense from Yahwists. This is the god who babbled about gays but somehow forgot to tell us, specifically, that slavery, rape and child molestation were wrong. ~

No, but this is a massive generalization.

Well, they are wrong I don't need a book to tell me not to murder people, to respect others and to be faithful to my wife

All Christians do not believe that, so no. Generalizing a group of people that you obviously don't understand, on the other hand, is.

The Bible is His word. His word is also sealed in our hearts

You are mistaken. Christians look to God and his morality. The world looks elsewhere.

I think it stems from fear mongering. Most religious people I've known are conviinced that all thet nonebelievers are out to make Christianity illegal. I've heard that Obama is trying to outlaw Christianity from a couple of Christians, I'm not sure where it all comes from, but I think one of the bigest problems is that they don't get most of their news from lagit sources, they all read christian blogs and websites that propogate this fear. I think the "Answers in geneses " billboard says it all, its a picture of a kid popinting a gun at you and its captioned "If he doesnt care about God, do you think he cares about you? " The idea is that nonbelievers will shoot you in the face. Thats the kind of nutjob fear mongering they are spoonfed. So. So while it does take a little old fashioned stupidity, the real culrpit is the Christian propaganda hate machine.

Christians *do* believe that the Bible as "God's Word " is the source of morality. This is not a generalization- the entire religion is built on what is in the Bible. Why is abortion wrong? Because the book of Jeremiah says that God knew us from the womb. Why is gay marriage wrong? See what the NT says about men lying with men. This is how Christians defend their moral views. I think this view comes from the fact that religious people tend to hang out only with people of their religion- thus it is easy for them to hold misconceptions about people of other faiths. It's easy to accept millions of people going to hell for being Hindu if you don't actually know any Hindus, for example.

"Christians believe "... ok, so your telling people what we believe. Anyone poorly educated gets their information from you.

Your question is the result of poor education, my friend. Christians do not believe that "without the Bible there is no morality. " That's just not true. If you knew scripture, you would know that Morality existed long before Moses heard God's word. What is right and what is wrong has existed even before the garden. The Truth is the Truth - what is, Is. There is a Way, and it proceeds from the Mouth of the Lord - Goodness is embodied in His nature. That's the Truth with or without Scripture.
