Question: How would you go about doing a background check on a person?

It really depends on the level of information you are looking for. If you just want a basic background check to see if someone is a criminal, you can just google background check. There are some really good sites out there. There are also some good blogs with lots of information about background checks like True Background.

There are many ways to get information about people. I'm not going to feed into that intrusion of their privacy for you though. Why do you want to do a back ground check on someone? that makes all of the difference as to if you will get the information.

1. hire a private investigator or a firm that does background checks (google PI or background checks to get a lengthy listing). 2. you could so some of it by talking to friends, relatives, family and work associates. keep pulling the string and find out all you can. some police files and jail records are open to the public, others are restricted.
